OK,OK we have stopped the blizzard (it was due to end on 31st January anyway!). Not sure why it was causing your computer to hiccup but might be worth checking your browser settings, and particularly those concerning javascript (which should be enabled as many sites use it for effects).

Hi Bill,
Thank you for bringing these problems to my attention; last month we signed up with a service that was meant to improve the performance and security of the site, but has had the exact opposite effect! It has now been turned off until such time as we are satisfied that it won't cause the same problems again. This is all part of the revamping of the website, so over the next few weeks there may be some odd behaviour from the site, and I would be grateful if anyone who encounters any problems or unusual things when accessing any part of the AWOL site lets me know about them. Sometimes these might be browser issues, as we are unable to test the site on every version of every browser, some might be FFS (Fat Finger Syndrome) by me, others might be conflicts between different bits of code which only occur in certain circumstances. Any input I get will help resolve the issues.
