The AWOL newspaper was intended to be mostly for entertainment, but whenever a more serious local story came along we did, of course, cover it when possible. However there is always a lot of serious news and events going on around the world and this section of the website brings you those stories as they break on the internet. We also have separate pages for Asia, Thailand, UK, and US news stories if you would rather focus on one region or country, but all those stories will also be found here.

Please see the extra fees listed on the site for these options, and please also note that payment for the ad and the writing or editing will have to be made in advance. If you choose Neither, no advance payment is required, but the submission could be rejected if there are errors (e.g. spelling or grammar) and would need to be amended by you. If we deem that the product or service being advertised is unsuitable for our site, we will reject the submission and refund any monies paid.
