Author Guidelines
- Anything that breaks, or we deem comes too close to breaking, the laws of Thailand, notably the ‘Lèse-majesté‘ and Defamation laws, will be rejected.
- Authors must make every effort to make sure that anything stated as fact can reasonably be deemed to be true, or must use language to account for uncertainty (e.g. “probably”, “possible” or “likely”).
- Satirical articles can be submitted but need to be very obviously joking, and actually funny, to be approved; they may also be visibly highlighted as spoofs or satire to avoid any misunderstandings by readers.
- Any article submitted must be the original work of the author, and not taken from someone else; if you want to share an article by someone else, please do so to our Facebook page, and it may feature in the ‘Shared Stories’ section.
- If an author wishes to express an opinion, they are welcome to do so, but must make sure it is clear that it is just an opinion, and not fact.
- Any submitted story will be subject to editing at our discretion, whether for suitability, grammar, or any other reason.
- If there is a need to use expletives (e.g. when quoting someone) please prevent causing offence to readers by using asterisks to replace all or part of the word (e.g. f***).
- Articles that are deemed to be promoting a particular local business will be rejected; we offer several inexpensive advertising options so please use those for any promotion. Please also remember that if an event is taking place at yours or someone else’s business (e.g. a party, quiz night, pool tournament), these can be submitted for free here, and will feature in the Events section.
- Authors who regularly submit unsuitable, offensive or similar articles, or spam the site with attempted unpaid adverts, will be blocked from accessing the site
